The Manila shawl was the most popular accessory in women's dress in 18th-century Spain.
Chinese in origin, these silk cloths decorated with flowers, birds or fanciful motifs and finished with fringes made the women who wore them look elegant and exotic.
Years later, this piece of textile art became associated with Andalusian women and flamenco, bringing elegance with its exotic cut.
Travels to the East have been my inspiration for creating the Manila bridal robe.
Our most special robe, as if it were a Manila shawl.
A piece made by hand, using silk and cotton fabric, with a very soft finish to the touch and exquisite embroidery, for brides who want to look elegant, sophisticated and exotic in the moments before the "I do".
The MANILA bridal robe does not include the matching nightgown.

Shipping: £30. Made to order by hand: Leaves the atelier in 7 working days, plus 3-6 working days in transit
You have 14 days from delivery to exchange the size or return it, unworn and with its label: we pay the shipping of the new size and you pay the return. Personalised embroidery and made-to-measure pieces cannot be returned, and a piece that has been worn loses its value and cannot be returned either. Returns and exchanges policy.

What is the approximate delivery time for the handmade bridal nightwear in the collection?
All our bridal robes and nightgowns are designed and made by hand, in the traditional way.
Each piece, although not made to measure, is made by hand, one by one, with all the care and experience that defines María Palomo Couture, and always made to order (we don't hold stock).
That is why delivery times are approximately 10 to 30 days from the date of your purchase.
However, if you need your order to be sent by a specific date, contact us at info@mariapalomocouture.com and we will let you know whether an express dispatch is possible.
Does the price of the handmade bridal nightwear include shipping?
Yes, the price you see on each item is the final price (shipping included).
Is there a returns policy for the handmade bridal nightwear?
Our handmade bridal nightwear brand is built on the quality of the pieces we make by hand and with all our care.
Quality and elegance are our signature.
So, if the item(s) you buy arrive damaged, we will refund the amount paid, no questions asked, as long as you have not requested a personalised embroidery on the robe you chose.
However, so that you can make the return at no cost, you need to follow these steps:
On the day you receive it, if you open the packaging and see that the item is damaged, you need to:
- contact me by email at info@mariapalomocouture.com, attaching a photograph of the item exactly as you found it, and request its return.
- Note: it is important not to remove the tag, which will be attached to the item with a ribbon.
Any item whose return is not notified on the day of delivery will be considered accepted and it will not be possible to return it.
If the bridal robe is a gift, we will allow a longer period, as long as you tell us in the order that it is a gift.
María, is there a ‘size exchange’ option?
If you try on your robe and/or nightdress and the size you chose is not right, we can exchange it for another size without any problem. Just contact me by email at info@mariapalomocouture.com.
However, if you are unsure between two sizes before placing your order, contact me by email and I will advise you personally. Bear in mind that all our robes are handmade to order and we can adapt them to your measurements.
What care (washing/ironing) should I bear in mind?
The fabrics we use to make our handmade bridal nightwear are of very high quality, but they are also quite delicate.
As each item is made in a different fabric, inside the packaging you will find a personalised card for the robe and/or nightgown you have chosen, with specific care instructions for its fabric and lace appliqués.
I've seen that a personalised embroidery can be added. Does it have a special price?
If the robe you choose has the option of a personalised embroidery on the sleeve or the belt (name and surname or initials, and the wedding date, in sand colour), the embroidery has an additional cost of €39.
If we personalise your robe with an embroidery, the returns policy does not apply to that item.
So, once you select the option to add a personalised embroidery on the sleeve/belt of your robe, we will get in touch with you so you can tell us the details you want embroidered, to avoid any typographical error.
