Delivery & duties

Every bridal robe and nightgown is sewn by hand in our atelier in Seville, once you've ordered it. Here you'll find how long it takes, what delivery costs to your country and which taxes or duties you may have to pay when your parcel arrives.

First, we make your piece

Your bridal robe or nightgown leaves the atelier 5 to 11 working days after you order (7 to 15 calendar days). You'll see the estimated date on the product page and again at checkout, before you pay.

Delivery costs and transit times

Transit times are in working days and start when your parcel leaves the atelier. Delivery is charged once per order, however many pieces you choose. The last column shows what is paid to customs and the courier when the parcel arrives: it isn't included in what you pay us.

These are estimates, not guaranteed dates. Couriers and customs sometimes take a little longer, so allow a few extra days, especially if your parcel goes through customs.

Why UK orders start at £135

Orders to the United Kingdom need to reach £135 in pieces, not counting delivery. It isn't a way to make you spend more. Under UK rules, on parcels below that value the seller has to charge UK VAT at the time of sale, and we can't do that yet. Above it, VAT is paid on import instead, as with any parcel from outside the UK.

Each of our bridal robes reaches that amount on its own. A nightgown on its own may fall short; you can add it from your robe's product page to make a bridal robe set.

Taxes and duties on delivery

Within the European Union there are no customs, and the price already includes Spanish VAT. Prices for countries outside the EU don't include Spanish VAT, because they're exports. There, and in the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla, your parcel goes through customs, and import taxes, duties and the courier's clearance fee are not included in what you pay us: they're paid on delivery. Customs and the courier set the exact amount when the parcel arrives, so the figures below are a guide.

• United Kingdom. You pay UK import VAT (20%) and, depending on where the fabric comes from, import duty of up to 12%, plus FedEx's customs clearance fee. As a guide, on a £169 bridal robe with £30 delivery, VAT and duty can come to around £68, plus the FedEx fee.
• United States. You pay US import duties, between 10% and 16% depending on the fabric, plus FedEx's clearance fee.
• Mexico. You pay for your order in Mexican pesos. As in other countries outside the EU, Mexican import taxes and duties are paid on delivery, along with the courier's clearance fee.
• Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla. Delivery is free, but the parcel goes through customs: on delivery you pay IGIC (Canary Islands) or IPSI (Ceuta and Melilla) and the courier's clearance fee.

These charges are paid by whoever receives the parcel, so bear that in mind if you're having it delivered to another address.

See prices in your currency

Next to the total on each product page, just above the “Add to bag” button, you'll see “Shipping to” followed by a country. Choose yours from the list and the prices and delivery cost change to your currency. You can also change the country in your bag. That's pounds sterling for the UK, US dollars for the United States, Mexican pesos for Mexico and euros for Spain and the rest of the EU.

You'll see the delivery cost on the product page, in your bag and again before you pay. If your country isn't on the list, write to us at info@mariapalomocouture.com and we'll look into it.

Courier and tracking

Within Spain we send your parcel with TIPSA; to every other country, with FedEx. When your piece leaves the atelier, we email you the tracking number and a link to follow it.

You can also check your order at any time on our order tracking page, with just your order number and email: no account or password needed. We ask for your mobile number at checkout so the courier can contact you on delivery day.

Need it by a particular date?

When you order, add your wedding date on the product page: it helps us plan and prioritise your piece in the atelier. If you need it by a specific day, write to us at info@mariapalomocouture.com before you buy and we'll tell you honestly whether we can make it.

We can't guarantee delivery dates, because transit and customs aren't in our hands. Your robe is for the morning of your wedding, so give yourself some margin, especially outside Spain.

Returns and exchanges

You have 14 days from delivery to tell us you'd like to return a piece or exchange the size, and sending it back is at your cost. Pieces with personalised embroidery and made-to-measure pieces can't be returned if you change your mind. Import taxes and duties paid on delivery go to customs and the courier, not to us, so we can't refund them.
