Hello, I'm María Palomo

The designer and owner of María Palomo Couture

My childhood memories are tied to a pencil and to the strokes of drawings in which I tried to put on paper everything that lived in my head. From the moment I could hold a pencil in my hands, I drew, drew and drew.

I was born with a natural gift for drawing and creativity (inherited from my family), and that, on the one hand, makes you feel different from everyone else when you're a girl. But, on the other, it's a force inside you so strong that nothing and no one can pull you away from that path. So when the time came to choose a career, I had no doubts: it was time to follow my dream. I carried it inside me, and it was my passion.

I began a long journey of learning, first studying design and then growing in the working world, where I had the chance to be the designer for two major names in the textile industry. But my true calling was made-to-measure, handmade dressmaking.

Since 2012

My atelier: from Triana to Los Remedios

In 2012 I opened my atelier on Calle Pureza, in the very heart of Triana. There I had the great privilege of welcoming each of my clients, sitting down with them, listening to them and then making each piece by hand, with the finest fabrics.

They made it possible for my atelier to grow, and that modest “atelier” became too small to offer the quality and the attention I believe each one of you deserves.

That's why, in 2025, I made an important decision: to move to my new atelier in Los Remedios, at Avenida República Argentina 10 (first floor, left), in Seville. It's where every bridal robe and nightgown is now made. Inside you'll find:

A larger sewing workshop, where my head seamstress and I work side by side, cutting and sewing every piece by hand, one at a time and to order.
A reception area where brides who visit can take a close look at the robes and nightgowns in my collection.

So your robe is made here, by hand, just for you, and sent from Seville to the UK, Ireland, the US or another EU country. And if you're ever in Seville, I'd be delighted to welcome you to the atelier: visits are by appointment.

In Seville, getting ready for a wedding is a ritual: the light coming through the shutters, the scent of orange blossom, the women of the family gathered around the bride. That is the feeling I want every piece I make to carry, wherever it travels.

Who is María Palomo?

Before I say goodbye, three more details about me so you can get to know me a little better

I was born in Seville in 1972, but during my childhood I was lucky enough to live in many different parts of Spain, following my father's work postings. Getting to know other places and cities allowed me to absorb different ways of seeing things, of looking at life. And, with time, I can see that all of this has enriched me and made me the designer I am today.

I have three children: they're the ones who make me want to be my best self. I want to teach them that nothing in this life is handed to you and that, to achieve their true dreams, they have to fight and work hard. And always follow their intuition, because no one knows better than you how far you're able to go to make your dreams come true.

When I'm not being a designer or a mother, I love meeting my closest friends, in a small group somewhere pleasant, to talk: about current affairs, or anything at all. Spending time with the people closest to me is what I enjoy most.
